Ingredients
Moong dhal - 1 cup
Tomato - 1 large
Green chilly - 3 (Sliced)
Mustard - 1/4 tspn
Cumin - 1 tspn
Curry leaves
Red chilly - 1
Garlic - 3 cloves (Sliced)
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Hing - a pinch
Ghee- 1tspn
Salt - to taste
Preparation
Pressure cook moong dhal with water, salt,chopped tomato,turmeric powder and green chilly for 3 whistles.
Open the cooker after all the pressure is released.
Then in a small pan add ghee and temper it with mustard,cumin,hing,red chilly,curry leaves and garlic.
When the garlic changes to brown colour just add this all to the cooked moong dhal in the cooker.
At this stage,just boil the dhal in the cooker until it bubbles,so that it will get mixed with the tempering and also you will not have any raw dhal smell.
The delicious dhal is now ready to be served with rice or chapathi.
