For those who are interested in trying out some home remedies for issues associated with diabetes here are some tips.
Over Weight : Effective for getting rid of fat, drink up to 3 cups of green tea daily. Regular tea can also be used with a lesser effect. In the olden days, people used to take Horse Gram soup in the empty stomach that burns extra fat.
Blood Sugar Imbalance : The chromium in broccoli and peanuts helps regulate insulin and blood sugar.
Cinnamon and honey, flax seed powder and methi seeds soaked over night.All these are also proven to be effective in balacing sugar levels.
You can follow the below steps to bring your sugar levels under control.
* Soak methi seeds in water overnight and consume it in the morning.The water you soaked is very important because it absorbs all the good things in the methi.So dont pour the water down.Consume the methi along with that water.
But recent days,there has been a news which says that methi because of its elastic nature will stick along the lining of the lungs and other places.So its hard for the methi and the food to get digested.People who are worried about this,can just consume the soaked water and leave the seeds because you have all the good stuff in the water by soaking overnight.
* Also soak 5 to 6 almonds seperately over night.Morning consume the almonds along with the soaked methi. Almonds along with methi is really good for diabetics.always consume almonds by soaking in water because almonds will release the enzyme inhibitors in the water.
* You can also buy Wheat germ in grocery stores like "Shop rite" ( for people in US ) and can consume it along with rice at lunch time or dinner.Its known to be more useful in controlling the sugar levels.
* Along with dinner,try to take karela tablets which are readily available in Indian stores,as we all know that karela is more helpful to control diabetes .
* Try to have Oats cereal in the morning and add 1/2 tspn cinnamon powder and flax seeds to it.You can also add nuts to it to make it more nutritious.

* For those whose fasting sugar levels are high,take the above said Oats menu for dinner too.It will vastly help you to reduce your fasting sugar levels.Also have your dinner 2 hours before sleep.

* Everyday morning in empty stomach drink 30 ml of amla juice mixed with 30ml water or take it raw if you can.People in India can just have an amla instead of amla juice.For people in US,nowadays amla juice is available in all the Indian stores.
* Alternate days,you can consume raw aloe vera gel,which is good in various ways.If you don't get gel,you can try the aloe vera juice,but opt for the one which is pure and doesn't have unwanted sugar and preservatives.
* Once in 2 weeks ,try to take pure neem powder.Make small balls using neem powder and honey and consume it.Its good if you can take it without honey and in empty stomach.Do this atleast once in a month which will show various improvements.
* Twice or atleast once in a month,consume bitter gourd either as side dish or by adding it in main course.

Here is the list of some fruits, that the diabetics could consider.In general banana,grapes and mango are not recommended for diabetics because of their high sugar content.
Kiwi : This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, Vitamin E & fiber. It's Vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.
Apple : Although an apple has a low Vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of Vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attach & stroke.
Strawberry : Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer causing, blood vessels clogging free radicals.
