There are times where we have no vegetables or even onion at home to make a curry. No worries. You must be having curd at home anytime.Just let us see how to make a simple side dish with the curd that goes well with bonda, poori or even chapathi.
Ingredients
Preparation
Pour the curd in a bowl and mix it with water and milk.Use water as needed to make sure the curd mix is not so thick.
Add sugar, boondi and cumin powder to the curd and mix them all together.
If you buy plain boondi, then add salt in the curd as needed to taste.
Then temper mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilly and turmeric powder.
Add this to the curd mix. Then at last add chopped spring onion and corriander leaves.
The spring onion when added to this gives a unique flavour. If you want you can also slighlty saute it after tempering.
The boondi raita is now ready to be served with Bonda, poori or even chapathi.
Tips
You can also use crushed pepper instead of green chilly.I prefer to use the green chilly for the flavour and the spicy taste especially when tasted with Bonda.
The same way you can also avoid milk if you don't wish to add it.
