Rajma Masala Curry - Made Easy


Rajma is also known as Red-Kidney Bean which is used widely in North-Indian dishes.Its place of origin is Central  Mexico and Gautemala.

FYI: 100 grams of cooked rajma approximately contains 140 calories.

 Ingredients:
  • Rajma - 1 cup
  • Onion - 1 (Chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 (Chopped)
  • Garam Masala - 1 tspn
  • Cumin - 1/2  tspn
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tspn
  • Dhaniya Powder - 1/4 tspn
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tspn
  • Methi Leaves - 1 tspn (Dried)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Butter - 1 tspn
  • Oil- as needed
  • Corriander leaves - 1 tspn (chopped)







Preparation:

Soak rajma overnight and pressure cook it the next day.

Cook for 2 whsitles with little salt.

In a pan,add 1 tspn oil and saute cumin seeds.

Then add onion,green chilly followed by ginger-garlic paste.

Then add tomato.Make sure the onion and tomato is finely chopped.

Add water and add garam masala,chilly powder,dhaniya powder and salt.Let it cook well.

Then add cooked rajma and allow it to cok for 5 more minutes so that all the masala taste is
absorbed into the rajma beans.

Then add crushed methi leaves to it.

Once done,add 1 tspn of butter on the top.

Stir it well and add corriander leaves.

Tips:

You can adjust the chilly powder and garam masala to suit your spice level.
You can also avoid adding butter at the top for good.
