Wheat kaakra

Ingredients: 
  • Wheat flour – 1.5 cup
  • Rava – 1 /4 cup
  • Cumin – ½ tspn
  • Chilly powder – ¼ tspn
  • Baking soda – ¼ tspn
  • Garam masala – ¼ tspn
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tspn
  • Butter – 2 tspn
  • Salt – to taste




Preparation:

Mix wheat flour with rava,salt,cumin,garam masala,chilly powder,baking soda,butter ,water and turmeric and knead the dough tight.

Use lukewarm water to knead the dough.

Let it stand for half an hour.

After half an hour knead it again lightly and make small balls out of it.

Apply oil in a chapthi Stone and spread out the balls on it with hands to circle shape.

Heat the nonstick griddle and spread the circle shape dough on it.

When it turns slight red in colour,turn it aside.

It will taste like the papad that is cooked in stove flame with no oil (Sutta Appalam).

This can be stored in anir tight container for upto a week

This can be eaten with ghee or jam or sauce.
