Ingredients:
- Wheat flour – ¾ cup
- Maida – ¼ cup
- Butter or oil – 2 tspn
- Green Chilly – 1
- Ginger – small piece
- Potato – 2 (Cooked)
- Green Peas – 1 tspn
- Chilly Powder – ½ tspn
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tspn
- Corriander leaves – 1 tspn (Chopped)
- Garam Masala – ½ tspn
- Chat Masala – ½ tspn
- Amchur Powder -1/4 tspn
- Fennel – ½ tspn
- Oil – As needed
- Salt – As needed
Preparation:
Mix wheat flour,maida,little salt and
butter with little water and make the dough .
Let it stand for 30 minutes.
Let the dough be hard and not soft.
Cook the green peas and smash the
cooked potato.
Chop into small pieces, ginger and
gr.chilly.
In a kadai add 2 tspn oil and temper
fennel,gr.chilly,ginger and all masala powders.
Then add chopped coriander leaves and
add smashed potato and switch off the stove.
Make small balls out of the dough and
spread it in the palms.
Add small ball of the potato mixture
into the dough and close the openings as seen in the picture.
You can apply water to close the
openings.
Then fry them in oil in a kadai.
This goes well with sweet pudina
chutney and kaara chutney.
Tips:
As with any food,this too can be baked in oven fro good instead of deep frying in oil.
If so,arrange the samosas in a tray and bake it in oven at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Then turn the pieces aside and let it bake for some time.
Dont forget to spray some oil in the tray.
