Wheat Rava Vegetable Upma

Ingredients:

  • Wheat rava - 1cup
  • Green peas-  1tspn
  • Carrot – 1
  • Onion – 1
  • Green chilly – 1
  • Green pepper -1 (Capsicum)
  • Corriander -1 tspn (Chopped)
  • Ginger – small piece
  • Mustard – ¼ tspn
  • Urad dhal – ½ tspn
  • Bengal gram – ½ tspn
  • Red chilly  - 1
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tspn
  • Cashews -1 tspn (chopped)
  • Lemon juice – ½ tspn
  • Oil- 2 tspn
  • Salt – to taste







Preparation:

Cut carrot,onion,ginger and green pepper into small pieces.Slice the green chilly.

Add oil to kadai and fry the wheat rava until its golden brown.

Then keep it aside and add 1 tspn oil to the same kadai.

Then temper with mustard,urad dhal,Bengal gram,cashews and red chilly.

Then add chopped onion,carrot,peas and capsicum and sauté them.

Then add green chilly and ginger to it.

Once they are done,add 3 cups of water,salt and turmeric powder and let it boil well.

Then sim the flame and add rava little by little and stir it well by mixing the left out oil too.

Once cooked,switch off the flame and add lemon juice and corriander leaves.

The upma Is now ready to be served.

Tips:

Lemon juice can be avoided if you do not wish to add it.
